Edesur, the electrical power distributor of Enel Argentina, launched the "Energía que Suma" program, aimed at coming up with solutions to expand and formalize access to electricity in vulnerable neighborhoods in the metropolitan area of the city of Buenos Aires.
The project is developed by the Sustainability Management using an integral approach for each of the problems that arise in the field. The execution is carried out by community agents who have arrived in each neighborhood and know closely the most urgent actions.
During 2019, some 1,751 homes were already visited by representatives of ENEL, between customers and non-customers. The objective is ambitious and plans to reach 15,000 families with central actions such as:
- Normalization of supplies: regularization of customers who maintained illegal connections. The installation of meters and verification of security of the facilities is carried out.
- Guidance on supply management: helps customers understand all the business mechanisms to activate additions and changes in their account. We even offer special payment plans to regularize balances.
- Workshops on energy efficiency: training sessions aimed at the responsible consumption of electricity in the home, to achieve maximum efficiency in each action.
Each solution we bring is personalized. Based on the data collected by the agents, a social cartography is prepared to establish an action plan according to the needs of each area.
The objective of the Energía que Suma program is to help more and more people to formally access electric service and to use it in the most efficient and productive way possible.
