The Honorable Senate of the Nation declared of interest the activities carried out by Enel, within the framework of Women's Week. Edesur, as a member company of the group, adheres to the UN Women Empowerment Principles (WEPS).
Recognized initiatives include the discovery of the bust of the engineer Elisa Bachofen, together with the Association of Electric Power Distributors (Adeera), which was placed in the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Buenos Aires (UBA). Bachofen was the first woman with a degree in civil engineering in the country and in South America in 1918.
Also noteworthy was the inauguration of the Ing. Beatriz Ghirelli Training Center, located in the town of Ezeiza. It was designed as a place where our staff, contractors and students can receive training on the operation of electrical installations, work equipment and safety.
However, given the scope of the coronavirus pandemic, the property was made available to the Municipality of Ezeiza to be used as a field hospital with 120 beds for low complexity patients. It was mounted in March 2020 and was put back together this year in the face of the second wave facing the country.
