- How do you feel working in Edesur?
We feel grateful, confident, firm, committed; all thanks to what we have achieved as a consequence of our effort, and as a result of the mutual commitment with the company,
I (Christian), I started as an intern in the Commercial sector at the time the company belonged to Spanish capitals, and then, in 2003, after I became a permanent employee, I was able to develop in other areas:
Market, since 2001, and up to 2002
Procurement, since 2002, and up to 2012
Innovation, since 2012, and up to 2017
ICT Procurement, since 2017, and up to present.
I (Karina) have been working in Edesur for 20 years. I was a secretary of Finance Management up to 2013. I have been working in the RHO area as a Management secretary since 2014, after applying to an internal job posting.
I have always enjoyed my job very much, I work with my greatest dedication and might because I like what I do.
I have worked in the following areas:
Finance Management since 1998, and up to 2013.
Risk Management, since November 2013, and up to June 2014
Human Resources and Organization, since 2014, and up to date.
- What feeling does Edesur awaken in you?
Karina: I started working for Edesur after applying for the job search of Management Secretary published in the paper in 1998. Today, I am proud to say that I was able to stay in that position for almost 15 years. It was an area with a very human, familiar and fellowship environment which allowed me to learn and incorporate new concepts, and different ways of working, to my professional experience.
This made me feel safe and valued. I was able to progress in my personal life, make projects, make friends, and have a good working relationship with those who were part of such a very nice team, and with whom I still keep in touch despite not belonging to the company after several years.
Christian: My time working within Innovation has been an unforgettable experience in my professional career, I have met many colleagues who were always adding value to what they did; I have also met very valuable people, who enriched me and encouraged me to work harder.
We had to face constant challenges since our functions were related to new technological developments, and brand new issues, both at the local, and international level.
-What changes have you seen in Edesur in recent years? What other changes would you like to see (according to your professional point of view)?
We have gone through several structural changes in the company. However, the most revolutionary was the coming of the Enel Group.
We would like the next changes to be related to unifying the different processes related to administrative matters. The group owns many companies, and each one has its own process.
- Do you identify with the Open Power thinking of Enel Group? What´s your opinion about it?
The Open Power thinking implies a modern, global and inclusive approach; nowadays, we have to be open-minded in order to face the new challenges and needs of the market to satisfy consumers.
Companies have had to change their cultures in search of new partnerships and alliances, and they have had to open up to the entrepreneurial and business world so as not to lose competitiveness.
I think the group is taking a successful path in relation to this vision. Open Power thinking motivates us to remain active, to provide constant cooperation, and to generate interaction spaces and environments.
- How do you see yourselves in 2030? Would you still be in the company?
We do not know. Our projection leads us to believe everything can happen. Twelve years may pass very quickly, but the organizational dynamic is generally accompanied by unexpected management decisions, so we would rather be prepared.
- What do you think of the Enel´s objective for 2050, of being 100% carbon neutral?
It is a very important and ambitious goal; those companies that will not change their processes to improve the environment will not survive; we hope that the following administrations share the same goals of continuity to this plan, for the sake of current and new generations.
More Human
- How were your professional lives before starting working in Edesur?
We were younger and our lives were very different from the one we have together today. We lived with our parents and did not have any children. We were both studying, with many projects and desires to prosper.
- What does your family think about the stage we are currently going through in Edesur? How do they see the company? What position does Edesur occupy on your daughters' world?
They are not aware of the news related to the company because they still little girls. When they come to the company, they enjoy it very much and do not want to return home after a full day; they identify the company´s logo when we they see it on the street, or when we are within our working area they say, "we are near mommy and daddy´s work".
-Do you meet with your co-workers outside work? What do you do? How do you live those moments? Do you remember any special time that you have had outside work with your colleagues? Tell us about it.
We remember with great affection and nostalgia our marriage celebration (in 2007), many of our guests were co-workers; we keep in touch with some of them, but many of them are no longer among us.
We currently maintain beautiful friendship relationships with colleagues; we also share time with their partners, sharing family vacations and weekend programs, meetings at homes, etc. our respective children have also become friends! This is really rewarding!
- Can you name some of the colleagues who are impacting your professional life in a positive way? Why?
Horacio Campetelli (Procurement): I have a profound admiration for his professional background; he is a dedicated person, hard-working, professional, with an ethical profile, always willing, and respectful.
Armando de Rissio (Infrastructure and Networks): He marked my professional career a lot; he showed a lot of confidence in me, and he is a person in whom I felt I could trust.
